I had my boat in this week for the first time in several weeks. I noticed going up river on the Sweeny side a bit up river from Lazy Oak Ranch that someone had installed new plastic bulkhead. When they did it looks like they dumped all their tree trimmings and branches from the bulkhead construction into the river. It is really visible with the low tides we have been having but in a higher tide I think it would be a hazzard that you might not be able to see. Some of us that have had this crap floating up to their docks and bulheads downstream from you in the past couple of weeks would appreciate it if you would have your contractor fish the rest of that waste out of the river.
The real concern is if the water level increases someone could damage their boat or worse get hurt skiing or wakeboarding.

Very dangerous to have treee parts in the water during this buisiest of times. I would hate to think that I put something in the river that could potentially hurt someone. grab some marshmellows, burn the limbs and make a good memroy out of them instead. Mother Nature already does enough to add to the dangerers for boaters without out help.

I also noticed all that stuff a month or so ago as it is just downstream from me. I also think there was a lot of dirt that was pushed into the river along with the tree branches as they backfilled the bulkhead. I think I may be able to find out who the contractor was that did that work. Let me see what I can find out.

Is the General Land Office or the Army Corps of Engineers the entity with jurisdiction on clean-up?

Nada

I am not sure who has jurisdiction. It may be the County. The cotractor should know better, but I think the land owner is ultimately responsible to clean it up. Kind of like BP, They did the damage they are responsible.

If it's the place I'm thinking about, all those trees were there in the river before the bulkhead. General Land office requirement to be beyond mean tide pushes the bulkhead back some and the trees were already washed out.
